Cody Thompson picks up Tiny Lund Memorial victory

A visit to Shelby County Speedway (Harlan, Iowa) was on tap for Cody Thompson on Saturday evening. He walked away with the big trophy in the IMCA Modified portion of the 31st annual Tiny Lund Memorial.

Seventeen Modifieds descended on the 1/3-mile dirt oval for the $1,255-to-win program, including Thompson’s Dakota Coating Solutions No. 25c ride.

Thompson began the evening with a sixth-to-second run in his heat race and started on the pole for the 20-lap A-Main. He led every lap, taking the victory by 1.150 seconds over runner-up Jordan Grabouski. Jacob Hobscheidt came home third, with Shane DeMey and Todd Shute grabbing the fourth and fifth finishing positions, respectively.

The victory was Thompson’s sixth A-Main triumph overall in 2023.
