Thompson wins at Worthington

During opening night at Worthington (Minnesota) Speedway on Saturday, Cody Thompson prevailed in the 12-car IMCA Modified division to score his second feature victory of 2025.

Thompson drove from fifth to third in his heat race on the quarter-mile oval, putting him ninth to begin the 20-lap A-Main. He used a restart to grab the top spot on lap 15 and took the checkered flag 0.984 seconds ahead of Brandon Beckendorf. Jim Cole finished third, with Todd Stinehart fourth and Cole Bents fifth.

On Sunday, Thompson was part of a 36-car IMCA Modified field at Vinton, Iowa’s quarter-mile Benton County Speedway. The $4,600-to-win show celebrated 46 years of IMCA Modified racing.

Thompson took eighth in his heat before climbing from sixth to second in his B-Main to earn a spot in the night’s 46-lap feature. He started 23rd and came home in the 21st position with a DNF.
