Cody Thompson caps busy weekend with third-place finish at Park Jeff
Cody Thompson’s race week began early as the Sioux City, Iowa, native invaded Boone Speedway for the rescheduled Harris Clash, originally slated for June 24.
Thompson impressed in his heat race, charging from sixth to second, but his momentum stalled in the feature as he crossed the line in 24th.
On Friday, Thompson headed to Crawford County Speedway for double duty in both the Late Model and Modified ranks. Mechanical issues ended his Late Model feature on lap nine, but he rebounded in the Modified main event with a fourth-place finish.
The weekend wrapped up at South Dakota’s Park Jefferson International Speedway, where Late Model misfortune struck again, ending his run in the 15-lap feature. Thompson closed out the night — and the weekend — with a third-place finish in the Modified feature.
