Top-10 finishes for Thompson at Park Jeff and Worthington
Cody Thompson raced the North Ridge Excavating No. 7 Late Model at two tracks in two states over the weekend and grabbed a pair of top-10 results.
On Friday, Thompson competed in the IMCA Late Model class during Park Jefferson Speedway’s Season Championship Night. He opened his evening with a third-place result in his heat race at the quarter-mile oval in North Sioux City, South Dakota. He then both started and finished ninth in the 20-lap feature.
The next night, Thompson was one of 22 entrants in the Tri-State Late Model Series stop at the quarter-mile Worthington (Minnesota) Speedway. After missing qualifying, Thompson started last in his heat and finished fifth, putting him in the 15th position to start the 25-lap, $1,500-to-win main event. He charged ahead 11 positions in the A-Main to finish fourth behind Cole Searing, Jeffrey Larson and J.T. Wasmund. Trevor Anderson was fifth.
