Cody Thompson competes in Iowa Fall Nationals
On Friday, Cody Thompson raced in the Hawkeye State with an IMCA Modified start on the first night of the Iowa Fall Nationals at Clay County Fair Speedway.
With a $1,000 winner’s share on the line, Thompson was one of 17 Modified competitors at the 3/8-mile clay oval in Spencer, Iowa. He drove his K&J Rentals No. 25c machine from seventh to third in his heat race, positioning him eighth on the grid to begin the main event.
He was in the top five for much of the 20-lapper, but ran into trouble late and recorded a 16th-place result with a DNF.
Thompson did not compete in the $2,000-to-win second night of the Iowa Fall Nationals on Saturday,
