Thompson makes IMCA Modified starts at Park Jefferson and Worthington
Cody Thompson competed across two states over the weekend, making stops in South Dakota and Minnesota aboard his K&J Rentals No. 25c Modified.
First, Thompson raced in a 13-car IMCA Modified field at North Sioux City, South Dakota’s Park Jefferson Speedway on Friday evening. He turned in a DNF in his heat race on the quarter-mile track, but drove from his 12th-place starting position to finish seventh in the 20-lap feature.
On Saturday, Thompson moved on to the quarter-mile Worthington (Minnesota) Speedway. He navigated from seventh to second in his heat, then started fifth in the 20-lap A-Main. However, he ran into trouble and recorded a DNF with an eighth-place result.
Thompson was also originally scheduled to compete in the Harris Clash at Boone (Iowa) Speedway on Tuesday, but the event was postponed until Tuesday, August 5.
