Thompson rallies big in Park Jefferson visit
Cody Thompson's 2026 season is finally underway, and with a short commute to boot, joining the JZ Trucking Sport Mod/B-Modifieds at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, South Dakota, on Friday, March 20.
Although a large contingent of 34 entries made the call, Thompson, hailing from nearby North Sioux City, South Dakota, was not deterred, racing on to finish eighth at the final checkers. An impressive stat, nonetheless, it was his route to get there that was even more impressive, rallying eight positions from 16th to secure his first top-ten of the season.
Thompson finished fourth in his heat race to qualify, one position shy of redraw spot.
